Hello everybody, today I am going to write about the installation of android studio. How to install android studio for Ubuntu 18.10 system. We all know that, there are lots problems during installation of the android studio. So, this article will help you to come across the problem.

What is Android studio?
Android studio is a software that used to build and edit android apps. It is developed by jetbrains and works on IntelliJ. Google is the owner of the android studio and it is totally free software for everybody.
Before installing android studio there are some requirements to keep in mind or to follows.
- I am writing the installation process for Ubuntu
- Root access
- Latest version of Java (JDK) must be installed already
In android studio everything is done by java. So, In order to use android studio you must have to install the latest version of java jdk for Ubuntu.
$ sudo apt install oracle-java10-set-default
To verify whether the java has been installed or not, use this command in your terminal.
$ java –version
java 10.0.2 2018-07-17
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 18.3 (build 10.0.2+13)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 18.3 (build 10.0.2+13, mixed mode)
If you will get this information, It means your system has successfully downloaded the java. Noe move on the next section of the installation process.
Download Android Studio
Now you have to download the android studio from it’s official website.
Go to that first link, you can see this kind of page if you have Ubuntu system.
Download the android studio 3.2.1 for Linux 64-bit as per choice of your system. The size of android studio zip file is 1 GB approx. It will ask for accept terms and condition and then will start downloading.
Now, I assumed that you successfully downloaded the android studio and it is available in your downloads folder in the form of zip file.
Just right click on the ZIP file and select extract here and extract in the same folder.
Go to the android studio folder >> bin.
Inside the bin folder you can see studio.sh file. This studio.sh file is a executable file
At the very first we have to give the permission to that file. Run the following command to change the permission. I am assuming that you are in /bin directory
$ chmod 777 studio.sh
Now run the studio.sh file by using this command.
$ sudo ./studio.sh
That’s it, easy! now you can see this type of interface on the desktop.
You can set the SDK by the following process, in case of your sdk is not defined by default. Just click on Configure on the home and select SDK Manager.
During installation of Android Studio, it will be specified, select the folder manually in case of not. Apply and then press OK.
Create first project
Now the time is to create your first project in android studio. On the home window of the android studio, just click on Start a new Android Studio project.
Select the name of the project, company domain name and choose the optional packages if required and click next.
In the next step, select the minimum version of android which can able to run your app.
Now, we came on the main window of the android studio editor.
